A Call for Atlantic Canada's Indigenous Artists & Illustrators!

Ulnooweg Development Group is inviting Indigenous artists to submit applications to design the 2K, 5K, and 10K medals for this year’s Ulnooweg Summer Solstice Run.

This annual event celebrates community, cultural pride, and healthy living, bringing together youth and adults from Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities across Nova Scotia. The medals are an important part of the event, symbolizing the achievement and spirit of those who participate.

We are seeking designs that reflect Indigenous culture, values, and traditions, incorporating elements that represent strength, unity, and wellness. The selected artist will have the opportunity to showcase their work to a wide audience, while contributing to the promotion and celebration of Indigenous culture within the broader community.

This opportunity is open to Indigenous artists of Atlantic Canada.

We welcome artists working in all mediums, including traditional and contemporary styles.

Digital art skills and experience creating vectors is preferred.

Deadline to apply: March 12, 2026.

Please note that this is a paid opportunity:  Selected artist will receive $1,500 for three medal designs ($500 per design).
