Strategic Initiatives

Ulnooweg Development Group was born out of this quest for greater autonomy, self- determination, and self-sufficiency inspired by a vision of social entrepreneurship.

Your Partners in Indigenous Engagement

Ulnooweg’s Strategic Initiatives Department provides a conduit between Indigenous professionals and government / industry. We work to serve Atlantic Canadian Indigenous businesses and communities by creating connections to fill supply chain and capacity gaps.

Our Focus Includes

  • Assisting government and NGO representatives with Indigenous engagement for projects or development
  • Working with First Nation Economic Development Officers and corporate economic departments in creating capacity in innovative fields
  • Facilitating connections between Indigenous professionals and private industry / government for business growth opportunities
  • Inspiring students to pursue futures in innovation, and connecting them with the Universities that can support their education and entrepreneurship goals

Projects include developing partnerships with the Centre for Ocean Ventures and Entrepreneurship (COVE), and the Atlantic Canadian Aerospace and Defence Association (ACADA), supporting Indigenous engagement in Canada’s Ocean Supercluster and innovation around aerospace and defence. We are also working with Universities to increase participation of Indigenous students, particularly in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
