While leadership philosophy and education has changed over the years, what hasn’t changed is that leadership asks something different from women. It is said that it can be lonely at the top and this sentiment applies even more deeply in times of chaos in the world around us.
Leadership skills are a pre-requisite for many of the roles women naturally carry – mother, daughter, sister, wife, friend – and many of these leadership skills and qualities go unnoticed and sometimes undervalued by society. In these turbulent times, we are pulled to lead in different ways that access our natural resilience.

Meet your Facilitator
Mindful Leadership for Success consultant, Sonia Byrne, has helped leadership teams and boards in the Canadian corporate and non-profit sectors since 2009. She is known for her mindful approach to facilitating retreats, developing strategic plans and for her guidance in succession planning and other operational activities.
In her consulting firm, Sonia Byrne & Associates, for the past 15 years she has had the opportunity to work and live in settings in Canada, the USA, Mexico, the UK, Europe and the Middle East North Africa Region. Sonia holds great enthusiasm for helping leaders and teams untangle the puzzle of communication, perception and perspective to achieve greater success. She is currently facilitating workshops for entrepreneurial and leadership programs at St. Mary’s University, the Community Sector Council of Newfoundland, and Centennial College. Sonia is from Conception Bay North, Newfoundland.
